Position: Outreach Worker (Male) 

LAA currently has a vacancy for a Program Officer (Male) part-time for our Moorditj Moort Program.

Moorditj Moort Program.

The Moorditj Moort program provides outreach to vulnerable and disadvantaged Aboriginal people in the Langford/Gosnells region, to discuss Mental Health(MH)/Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) issues, act as a mentor, provide brief interventions as appropriate and provide links to local MH/AOD services.

The work of the project will be place-based (LAA is an established Aboriginal community centre), person-centred (providing one-on-one mentoring and advocacy support) and will work collaboratively with regional service providers, providing culturally appropriate accessible services.

A current and valid Western Australian C class motor drivers license or equivalent is desirable for this position.

Position: Program Officer 

LAA currently have a vacancy for a Program Officer (part-time) to work along-side the Program Coordinator in the Moorditj Koorlungka Kaadadjiny (MKK) Program.

Moorditj Koorlungka Kaadadjiny (MKK) program.

MKK is a local community program that aims to oprovide activities and projects that support community members in the Langford/ Beckenham/Queens Park/Cannington area understand the importance of children attending school.  The project will also increase the capacity of Indigenous families to engage in school and academic support for their children.

In this position you will have face-to-face interaction with students 2 ½ days per week and as required for other elements of the project.  This enables the opportunity for parents and families to identify issues and barriers that relate to their children’s attendance at school around, punctuality, health and nutrition, literacy and numeracy.  This project also enables chilren to learn respobsible use of computers and internet related research for their schoolwork.

In this position you will be required to assist in the management project planning, implementation, budget management, monitoring and reporting and the evaluation of community-based projects delivered by LAA. The role is also required to assist with the acquittal of program funds in conjunction with the Manager of LAA and to assist in the reporting of the progress of the programs aims and performance results to program funders and the LAA Management Committee.

You must hold a current and valid Western Australian C class motor drivers license or equivalent for this position.

Position: Administration Officer

LAA has a vacancy for a part-time Administration Officer (60 hrs per fortnight).

LAA provides services and programs to increase the health, well-being, cultural and social connections for Aboriginal people living and working in the Perth metropolitan region.

We are currently looking for an individual that is skilled in administrative management, reliable, resourceful and has the ability to deal with members of the public in a culturally respectful way. 

The successful applicant will work closely with the Senior Executive Officer in a support role. 

Attributes will include phone etiquette, computer literate, time management and organisational skills and an ability to deal with a number of competing work demands.

You must hold a current and valid Western Australian C class motor drivers license or equivalent for this position and hold or willing to obtain a Working with Children Check and a Federal Police Clearance.
